A few months ago, my phone rang. I was half-awake and didn't move. The person hung up when the answering machine picked up. About 2 minutes later, it rang again. I finally got the nerve to feel for it in the head of my bed without opening my eyes.
I mumbled: "Hello?"
Kristen: "I just tried to call."
Me: "I know, I was ignoring it."
Kristen: "You sick?"
Me: "No..sleeping."
Kristen, ignoring what I said: "Oh. Well, I have a job for you for the wedding."
Me, not enthused: "Are you going to make me the guestbook person? Because if you are, I'm going to say no."
Kristen: "Nooo.."
Me, still not enthused: "Are you going to make me serve food? Because if you are, I'm going to say no."
I'm too old to say "yes" to the shit-jobs.
Kristen: "Noooo.." I could see her roll her eyes in my mind.
Me: "Okay. Then what?"
Kristen: "Well, I need someone to make a list of music for the reception and Josh said "What about that girl?" and when I figured out he was talking about you - I thought "PERRRFECT."
I paused, my eyes popping open: "Yeah, being called "that girl" is going to get him far with me." she laughed.
Well, last night, I finally finished it. 100 not too corny, not too campy, variety of songs for Kristen's wedding. And now I am posting it here for my future reference, because I enjoyed doing this:
